Is back the motorola opus one with android 1.5 maybe be known by Motorola i1. Is a motorola branded iDEN android device yet another android phone make it to another US carrier nextel / boost. Be on the look out for more info.

Now here is something very interesting! It appears to be the first live images of a BlackBerry Slider! While we cannot confirm the legitimacy of these images just yet, they do seem ever so convincing. All of the characteristics fall into place (from what we can see). The buttons are up-to-date and “built-in” to the touchscreen. There is a touchpad, which makes sense, for additional navigation.

Just about everything we can currently observe (despite the blurriness of the photos) seem to be on par with the rumored body style of the BlackBerry Slider or otherwise known as the possible Storm3. It will be interesting to see if this device comes with all of the rumored OS specs, including OS 6.0 we’ve heard so much and so little about.

Do you think this could be the real BlackBerry Slider aka Storm3?

As the season wears on, the next-gen iPhone rumors continue to spew left and right. But do any of them really give an accurate idea of what we’re about to see in Apple’s next handset? A lot of people were hoping there’d be some announcement (or even a strong hint) at Apple’s media event on Wednesday, but there was no word. Outside of Apple itself, no one can predict the future — but a lot of people have been trying! So as a public service, I created a short list of some of the gossip and predictions so far and offered a few notes on what I think their likelihood might be. (If I’ve overlooked any, go ahead and add them into the comments below.)

So if you’re saving every last penny to pick up a new iPhone, and are wondering whether it’s worth it to wait or not, take a look at the following and see if there’s a feature or spec that appeals to you. If so, you just might want to hold off a little while.

Camera: Word on the street is that the iPhone will carry a 5 MP camera. Keeping in mind that the first iPhone had 2 MP, the iPhone 3G had 2 MP, and the 3GS has 3.2 MP, it does seem reasonable to expect a 5 MP camera.

Processor: The processor is one of the most important aspects of a device. When you tell the handset what to do, it has to process the command (like a tap on an application). If your device has a slow processor, you end up with delayed and laggy performance. The iPhone 3GS had a 600Mhz processor, which by no means is shabby. The rumors floating around suggest that the next-gen iPhone will have a faster processor, and we can all but put our money on that. Another rumor, however, suggests multiple cores (two or more processors) are going to be implemented.

(EDITOR’S UPDATE: Since Apple’s own branded chips are going into the iPad, some speculate that the same chipsets are heading to the next iPhone as well. The iPad processor, which hits at 1 GHz speed, might indicate a boost in speed, as well as battery life, if it were implemented in the next iPhone. Though some pundits believe this processor is dual core, Apple has not actually come out to confirm or announce that yet.)

Memory: When the first iPhone debuted in 2007, it came in 4GB and 8GB flavors. Now, 2 and a half years later, we’re looking at devices with up to 8 times the storage. The 3GS has a 16GB and 32GB model, and people still want more. Recently, it was announced that Toshiba has created a 64GB chip. Since Toshiba is the manufacturer of the current iPhone 3GS chips, it is a possibility that they will continue being Apple’s supplier, and put their new 64GB memory chips in the next iPhone.

4.0 Firmware: In the past, Apple has released new software with its hardware update of the iPhone. The iPhone 3G debuted with the 2.0 Firmware, and the 3GS debuted with the 3.0 Firmware. To me, it only seems logical that the next version will be accompanied with the 4.0 Firmware. Some sources say that the OS 4.0 will feature multitasking, something (un-jailbroken) iPhones lack and, I think, they are in serious need of. (And the new OS would have far-reaching ramifications on the just-announced iPad as well. The tablet’s lack of multitasking has been one of its biggest criticisms.)

Verizon iPhone: I know many people who switched to AT&T just for the iPhone. This current phone works on a certain type of cellular network called GSM (which AT&T supports). But for a long time, there have been rumors of a different version that will grace Verizon’s CDMA network. When reports surfaced of Qualcomm working with Apple to create a CDMA iPhone, which would work on Verizon, some people believed this was validation of the gossip — that, in addition to the stories that the carrier was investing in its network, so it could sustain iPhone users’ data usage. While this may look promising to many iPhone-hungry Verizon customers, the rumored CDMA iPhone is far from clinched. (Personally, I’m not convinced.) Another rumor, however, points to a dual-mode GSM/CDMA device, which would be capable of working on all the major carriers — both AT&T and T-Mobile (GSM networks), and Verizon and Sprint (CDMA networks). Talk about the best of both worlds.

Which one of these rumors appeals to you most? Does a whopping processor whet your appetite, or does a Verizon iPhone? Not many of these rumors will pan out, but if even a few do, we are surely set for a great summer iPhone release.

By the way, if you’re curious about what a multitasking iPhone could look like, check out this concept video created by Ocean Observations. The company imagines a cover flow–like interface on it.

T-mobile Perks

Magenta has something special for the top 2% of their customers brewing slowly on their website. It seems some users have been contacted last night and this morning to be offered a preview of a new program called My T-Mobile Perks. Membership to the new program is completely free and doesn’t require you to do any fancy tricks to sign up. Just click the link in the email, sign in, and then confirm you want to join the preview.

So what kinds of perks are to be expected? Well, since it’s a preview (read not complete by any means), there’s not a whole lot to choose from just yet. However, the email mentioned you will receive perks automatically for your birthday, your anniversary date with T-Mobile (how romantic), and other special Stick Together days. Further investigation found that the free gift on your birthday is a ringtone and a wallpaper and the Stick Together days are additional minutes and messaging for free. After joining, completing one of the surveys on the site rewarded us with a $5 gift card for Subway.

Lastly, there are Give Back Bonus Perks that the email mentions, and there will be rewards you receive each time you add My T-Mobile services or products to your existing account. There’s even a mention of your perks getting progressively better the longer you stay with T-Mobile. So what do you guys think? Is this another reason to love T-Mobile (as if we didn’t already)?

Edit: Sorry for the confusion. It’s only the preview part that has been rolled out to the 2% of customers. We’re not sure if the My T-Mobile Perks will be available for ALL customers, but here’s to hoping it is!

Lágrimas de fuego
que bebo con mis labios
que saben a sal de agua
con color de arco iris
con mil silencios
tus lágrimas …
que me hacen sufrir

Son tiempos para sentirnos
cuanto tú y yo estamos a solas
y el tiempo no existe
ni existe el final
sólo nos miramos
para besarnos y amarnos
sin que el mundo se mueva
envidioso de nuestro placer.

No me prometas castillos
ni me enseñes futuros
sólo déjame disfrutar ahora
porque ahora es cuando te necesito
mañana puede ser tarde
dame ahora tu querer
entrégame ahora tu amor.

You know, it’s easy to forget sometimes how amazing we have it in this country as we know a national disaster brings about the full resources of the federal government. While we saw an awful breakdown during Hurricane Katrina, more often than not these disasters bring out the very best in what makes us proud to be American. For Haitians, this disaster is in a word, biblical.  They don’t have the resources or the infrastructure to handle something so epic and it’s often all too easy to forget how good we have it. In South Florida, it hits home just a little bit harder because there are so many people desperately trying to get in touch with loved ones, family and friends.

How You Can Help:

For those interested in helping immediately, T-Mobile customers can simply text “HAITI” to “90999″ and a donation of $10 will be given automatically to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts.  Your donation will be charged to your T-Mobile phone bill, and one hundred percent of this donation goes directly to the Red Cross.  There is no per-text fee for this service for T-Mobile customers who do not have a messaging plan, nor will the text be decremented from messaging plans. Similarly, customers can text “YELE” to 501501 to support Haitian-born musician and featured T-Mobile MyTouch 3G artist Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti fund.  For more information, please visit http://www.yele.org.

T-Mobile has also begun waiving international calling

fees for all calls placed to Haiti between January 12 and January 31st. On top of that, T-Mobile customers currently in Haiti will not be incurring roaming fees that timeframe as well. T-Mobile has also pledged to donate equipment to help restore wireless service to Haiti, such as generators and phones.

Ten dollars isn’t much, its one or two day’s worth of lunch and there are people who need that money significantly more right now. Do the right thing.

Someone at Motorola needs to call the plumber. I’ve never seen so many leaks from a handset company. Or maybe all of this is staged for hype? Who knows?

Last week, the first pictures of the Motorola Opus One were revealed. BGR reported the device would support Sprint Nextel’s iDEN network and which lead us to speculate it is headed to Boost Mobile.

Boost Mobile offers no contract, pre-paid plans including the popular Monthly Unlimited Plan at $50. The Opus One would be the first Android phone for Boost Mobile and be marketed as their flagship device.

The Story

Imagine you are walking down the beach and you pick up a phone. The device is a shiny new touchscreen phone that you have never seen before. You rush home to search for the phone on Google, but are not coming up with any relevant results.

This is exactly what happened to our friend Jay. He found the new Motorola Opus One and just happened to have a working Boost Mobile SIM card. Here is his story:

I was in South Beach the other night and found this phone. I then notice it was a Nextel. I don’t own a Nextel but I put my Boost sim card on it and it worked perfectly then I notice that this phone has not been released yet. I wrote to Nextel letting them the situation and they replied the following.

jay84305YouTuber

Jay claims he actually got a response from Sprint and they confirmed it was a new phone. I find this a little hard to believe since carriers will never comment on unreleased products. Read it and see what you think. Real or fake?

Dear *******,

Thank you for contacting Sprint and showing interest in our products & services.

We are testing on it and hope to introduce this phone soon. Once it is launched, you will see promotional campaigns related to the launch date and the features of the handset on our Web site and other promotional media.

Please let us know if you would like us to assist you with anything else.

Perry K.Sprint

He then proceeds to upload four videos to YouTube of him playing with the phone. The device is identified as the upcoming Motorola Opus One and it is running MotoBlur powered by Android 1.5. The phone boots up with the Nextel logo, but most Sprint Nextel phones with direct connect are marketed under the Boost Mobile brand.

Watch his first video as he recaps his story and plays with the phone. I don’t think he has ever heard of Android, but he obviously thinks the phone is very cool.

After making the videos, he then goes on to say he put the phone up for sale on Ebay and he thinks it was purchased by the person who lost it (for around $200-300 $850). I couldn’t find the Ebay auction, but maybe someone with some more time on their hands could locate it.

As crazy as the story sounds, I think the entire thing is actually believable. While some parts of it may have been exaggerated, this guy did find a Opus One and demonstrate it working on the Boost Mobile network. It looks like the device is pretty close to a final build and I would expect it to launch in the next couple of months.

Would anyone switch to Boost Mobile to get a cheap Android phone and their $50 unlimited service?

Update: Google kinda, sorta, partially admits “Google Phone is real.”

The internet is abuzz this morning with a TechCrunch article stating that the long rumored “Google Phone” has been completely, 100% confirmed. According to TechCrunch sources and pictured Twitter remarks, the Google Phone has been handed out to an unknown number of Google Employees who are claiming “revolutionary changes.” Having discussed with our sources regarding the matter we are able to get further remarks that T-Mobile will support this launch as we have previously stated. Here is what we know:

  • The phone will be sold strictly by Google, T-Mobile will NOT sell the device
  • Billing, General Questions and General Troubleshooting questions will be handled by T-mobile
  • Handset features, Handset Exchange and Advanced Device Troubleshooting will be handled by Google and/or Call Center Partners
  • T-Mobile hopes that by supporting the launch, they will have the opportunity to add additional customers
  • HTC is the definite manufacturer and the device IS believed to be the HTC Passion, the word Passion is tossed around everywhere according to our sources
  • Postpaid and Flexpay accounts are both currently slighted for support
  • No information is available as to whether or not T-Mobile is the exclusive partner

Last night, we started seeing some Tweets from Google employees and others about a new Android-powered Google phone that was apparently handed out at an “all hands” meeting. Now Google is confirming that it is indeed “dogfood” testing a new Android device with employees around the world.

But this isn’t just another Android phone. Very trustworthy sources who have seen the phone say that it is the Google Phone we first wrote about last month (despite the uninformed saying we were dreaming). It will be branded Google and sold by Google as an unlocked phone, which could change everything. As we wrote in our original post:

Google is building their own branded phone that they’ll sell directly and through retailers. They were long planning to have the phone be available by the holidays, but it has now slipped to early 2010. The phone will be produced by a major phone manufacturer but will only have Google branding (Microsoft did the same thing with their first Zunes, which were built by Toshiba).

There won’t be any negotiation or compromise over the phone’s design of features – Google is dictating every last piece of it. No splintering of the Android OS that makes some applications unusable. Like the iPhone for Apple, this phone will be Google’s pure vision of what a phone should be.

The phone itself is being built by HTC, with a lot of input from Google. It seems to be a tailored version of the HTC Passion or the related HD2 (Unlocker scored some leaked pictures back in October which are of the same phone).

Here are the details we know so far about the phone: It will be called the Google Phone and will launch in early January, 2010. It won’t be sold by any one carrier, but instead will be an unlocked GSM phone. In the U.S., that means T-Mobile and possibly AT&T, whose exclusivity deal with the iPhone is about to run out. It will be running Android 2.1

The phone is “really, really fast,” says someone who has seen one in action. It runs on a Snapdragon chip, has a super high-resolution OLED touchscreen, is thinner than the iPhone, has no keyboard, and two mics. The mic on the back of the phone helps eliminate background noise, and it also has a “weirdly” large camera for a phone. And if you don’t like the touchscreen keyboard, a voice-to-text feature is supposed to let you dictate emails and notes by speaking directly into the phone.

These are instructions on how to jailbreak and unlock your iPhone 3G and 3GS using BlackRa1n and BlackSn0w for Windows.

These instructions will work with the latest 3.1.2 firmware, the 05.11.07 baseband, and iPhones which require hactivation. If you have already jailbroken following these instructions to unlock will be easier.

For those with a new iPhone 3GS (updated Bootrom), BlackRa1n only supports a tethered jailbreak. This means that once jailbroken you should not let your battery die. If it does die you will need to reconnect it to the computer and use BlackRa1n to boot it.

Before continuing make sure you are on the 05.11.07 baseband by following this tutorial. If you are not please update your firmware to 3.1.2 using iTunes before continuing.

You can find the Mac version of this tutorial here.
